Solve : wireless connection is excellent but the browser page opens w/ server not found?

Answer»

Okay, so my laptop was using a USB connecter, but it broke.
I didn't think that my laptop had a wireless CARD, but turns out it does.
I enabled the card, and CONNECTED to my wireless internet.
The connection says excellent.
But when I open the internet any address i put in OPENS with "server not found" and says that the internet can not find WHATEVER website I typed in.
I have already "repaired" the wireless connection.
Also, I tried to restart/turn off my computer.
I also unplugged the router and then restarted my computer and then tried again.
Same thing.
Now if I take the cord from the router and plug it dirrectly into the back of my laptop, the internet works.
Also, I am currently on my room mates computer and her computer is currently connected to the internet w/ the same router that I use via her wireless card.
I really would love some help!! Quote

The connection says excellent.
We'll see...
Go Start>Run ("Start search" in VISTA).
Type in:
cmd
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

At Command Prompt, type in:
ping www.google.com > ping.txt
Hit Enter.

In Window Explorer navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\your_name (C:\Users\your_name in Vista)
Double click on ping.txt to open it in Notepad.
Copy all text, and post it in your next reply.
