Answer» i have a COUPLE of questions here as i'm setting up my first wireless network.. but the one that brang me over here is.. on my belkin usb wireless adapter, the software that came with it.. i just don't understand it. i see my modem router shows up, but it wants an encryption key from me, and i don't know what that is. all i have is my ISP's username and password, and a sticker that's on the side of my router with a S/N code, MAC code and a WEP key - whatever they are.
the THING came with no instructions at all so i'm a little confused. software for both belkin adapter and Livebox (my router) have been installed on the computer. running windows XP sp2
the other question was. i had a message pop up after inserting the usb adapter saying the device uses HI Speed usb, and saying there may be a loss in performance becuase i'm using a standad usb hub.. before i go looking for one at the shop, would it be worth it? my connection to my router displays as STRONG anyway.. atleast for the time being.just POSTING to say i'm now online, and for anyone that may have read and was wondering too.. the wireless adapter asked for a encryption key, and what it wanted was the WEP code, don't know why i didn't try it earlier
belkin N adapter with a livebox and orange as ISP, running faster than i thought it would go, so i recomend it to anyone that's reading.. although, i've just come accross what i think is a virus that the my AV wont detect.. thought it was all too good to be true
