I have a single laptop in my home & a cable/MODEM box that I connect to the internet from. I bought a router thinking that I could MAKE this COMPUTER wireless and then after several failed attempts found out that a router is only for connecting another computer to an existing wired computer. (?) Is there a way to make my laptop (which is my only computer) wireless??
I have tried to locate hot spots around my home but failed.
I have a 802.11b/g wireless LAN already installed into my computer (it came with it already on it)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I guess, you need wireless router.
I'm little bit surprised, because most newer routers are wireless.
What is that modem make, and model?
