Solve : Wireless will not connect?

Answer»

I have an old presario 2209CL notebook RUNNING a broadcom wlan card. Whenever I try to connect to a wireless network I GET this message:
Windows is unable to connect to the SELECTED network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again.
I haverefreshed the network several times but it still will not connect. Also, I know the network shold be in range because I am right now 10 feet away from the wireless router which is a NETGEAR WGR614 v7. Any help would be apreciated.Does wired connection work?Yes, that is how I posted this. Quote

Windows XP?  So you resolved the problem by:
     a.  Installing Service Pack 3?
     b.  Removing Service Pack 3?
     c.  Keeping previously installed Service Pack 3 and making some adjustment and/or fix recommended by Microsoft?
