Answer» There are currently running 4-5 work stations networked to a server. After doing some some moving AROUND and remodeling, the workstations now are no longer receiving data from the server. So the workstations cannot even access the programs and STUFF. They can still connect to the internet though. All the workstations are operating on Windows XP.
I dont know what happened, the workstations were connecting fine before the remodeling. What seems to be the problem now, and how do I fix it That COULD be a number of things:
1) Network cable unplugged on server. 2) Network cable on server plugged into the wrong place (like to another PC or a wireless access point). 3) Server's IP configuration is wrong/missing. Make sure it's IP address is static and is the correct IP. 4) DNS server/service may be down. Make sure that's up and running. 5) BAD NIC/cable on server/bad port on switch server is connected to.the problem was the drivers, i just reloaded them and problem fixed Good. Glad you solved the problem!
I'll remember "drivers" next time I make one of those MINI troubleshooting lists for that kind of thing. I know its kinda weird how sometimes fro no apparent reason, the drivers get corrupt or the internet connectivity is lost or .....
