First off how are you all?!
Second, I'm having some serious trouble connecting my XBOX to LIVE via my laptop. Ill just give a diagram as to what the setup is.
XBOX 360 >ETHERNET Cable< Laptop >Wireless< Internet
The problem is that when the Ethernet is plugged into my laptop the Local Area Connection just gives me the error message of 'Limited or No Connectivity'. I tried to follow the instructions given here:

But when I try to enable ICS it just gives me an error message that reads:
'An error occured when ICS was being enabled
Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled.
A LAN connection is already configured with the IP adress that is REQUIRED for automatic IP addressing'
I think I know what its trying to say, I just have no idea on how to fix it. I have updated my LAN drivers, tried bridging, but when i do that it wont let me use my wireless internet. It says connected at 1MBps but wont load any pages.
Please does anyone know how to fix this?!
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 3000
XP SP2
Broadcom WLAN Adaptor.
No firewall installed, I use the ONE in the router.

Please tell us how do you connect your laptop to the internet. I need also the content of the file c:\config.txt, which you obtain it as follows:
- open a command prompt window
- type the command: ipconfig (SPACE) /all (SPACE) >c:\config.txt (ENTER) (do that when you are connected to internet).
My assumption is that you receive an IP like 192.168.0.x from your ISP or from a router (do you have a router through which you connect to internet?).
Before I will advance with information search, I need what I asked you.Since this is an Xbox you may also want to try bridging instead.

(microsoft support page - I really don't understand why do microsoft meddle with the connection between the router and ISP equipment, but hey, who am I to criticize their decision?)

These are just examples, first results from those searches on yahoo, google, altavista or other search engine.
You can't use ICS because by default ICS tries to use addresses like 192.168.0.x for the "lan" area part of your small network; but your "wan" area part of the laptop (the connection between the laptop and your router) uses this network address, and causes a conflict with your demand to use ICS. If you have a router why do you further complicate things instead of just using what your router has? (plenty I may say, for a home connection).
I may explain further why you can't use now ICS with these router settings. You may change the DHCP pool, but I won't deviate from the problem - it will only complicate things and it won't solve your problem, your solution lies in the router settings (port forwarding, virtual server).Sorted!!!
