Answer» UITARY GLAND • It is known as the master gland even though it is just the size of a pea • It hangs below the hypothalamus and controls most of the endocrine glands => ANTERIOR PITUITARY • releases growth hormones and tropic hormones -> TSH ( Thyroid stimulating hormone )-> FSH ( Follicle stimulating hormone ) -> LH ( lutenizing hormone ) -> ACTH ( Adrenocorticotropic hormone ) => POSTERIOR PITUITARY -> releases oxytocin and vasopressin which is produced by hypothalamus -> oxytocin helps in milk formation and uterine CONTRACTION during birth -> vasopressin or ANTIDIURETIC hormone helps in reabsorption of water from kidney |
