1.

The base of a triangular walls is half of its height. If the cost of painting it at Rs. 150 per 100 Square meter is Rs. 600, then what is the base?1. 20 m2. 40 m3. 60 m4. 80 m

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 1 : 20 m

Given

Base = height/2

Concept

Area of triangle = (1/2) × base × height

Calculation

Let height of triangle is h m

So, base is (h/2) m

Area of triangle = (1/2) × (h/2) × h

⇒ h2/4 m2

Rs. 150 = 100 m2

⇒ Rs. 1 = 100/150

⇒ Rs. 600 = (100/150) × 600 m2

⇒ Rs. 600 = 400 m2

Now,

400 = h2 /4

⇒ 1600 = h2

⇒ √1600 = h

⇒ 40 m = h

Base = 40/2

⇒ 20 m
