The circumference of a circle is 35.2 m. Find its area.

Let the radius of the circle be r m.

Then, its circumference = 2πr m

∴ 2πr = 35.2

= 2 × (22/7) × r = 35.2

= (44/7) × r = 35.2

= r = 35.2 × (7/44)

= r = 5.6 m

∴Area of the circle = πr²

= (22/7) × 5.6 × 5.6

= 22 × 0.8 × 5.6

= 98.56 m²
