The circumference of the base of a circular cylinder is 6π cm. The height of the cylinder is equal to the diameter of the base. How many litres of water can it hold?

Answer»

Radius = \(\frac{\text{Circumference}}{2π}\) = \(\frac{6π}{2π}\) = 3 cm

⇒ Height = 6 cm.

∴ Volume of the cylinder = πr2 =π x (3)2 × 6 cm3 = 54π cm3

\(\frac{54π}{1000}\) litres = 0.54π litres.
