1.

The curved surface area of a right circular cylinder is 176 sq cm and its volume is 1232 cu cm. What is the height of the cylinder ?

Answer»

2πrh = 176 cm2

& πr2h = 1232 cm3

\(\frac{\pi r^2h}{2\pi rh}=\frac{1232}{176}\)

⇒ r/2 = 7

⇒ r = 14 cm

\(\therefore\) h = \(\frac{176}{2\pi r}\) = \(\frac{176\times7}{2\times 22\times14}\)

 = 16/8 = 2 cm

Hence , height of cylinder is 2 cm.
