Africa had dense forests, big lakes, perennial (constantly recurring) rivers and large tracts of deserts. iii. Specific composition of Africa was not known to the world at large. iv. It was known as ‘Unknown or Dark continent’. As a result, the discovery of interior parts of Africa did not take place. |
