Answer» Correct Answer - Option 1 : C

Given:

Distance between Madhubani and Patna = 300 km

Train starts from Madhubani with 30 km/hr at = 9 am

Train starting from Patna with 20 km/hr at = 10 am

Concept used:

Relative speed = Speed of train A + speed of train B

When both are moving in opposite direction.

Calculation:

Distance travelled by train from Madhubani from 9 am to 10 am = 30 km

Now, distance between trains = 300 - 30 = 270 Km

Time at which the two trains meet = distance/ relative speed

Time of meeting = 270/(30 + 20) = 5 hour 24 min.

That of meeting = 5 hours 24 mins from 10 am

∴ The two trains will meets at 3:24 pm.
