1.

The height of an equilateral triangle is 6 cm. Find its area. [Take √3 = 1 .73]

Answer»

Height of an equilateral triangle = 6 cm

Let x be a side of triangle.

Height = √3/2 (side) = √3/2 x

6 = √3/2 x

x = 12/√3

x = 12√3/3 = 6.92 cm

Now,

Area of a triangle = √3/4 (side)2

= √3/4 x 6.92 x 6.92

= 20.76 cm2
