1.

The ligand called pi-acid is

Answer»

Co
`NH_(3)`
`C_(2)O_(4)^(-)`
ethylene diamine

Solution :LIGANDS like `CO, CN^(-)` and `NO^(+)` have EMPTY `pi`-orbitals which can overlap with the metal `t_(2G)` orbitals forming `pi`-bonds. This is called back bonding. As they accept ELECTRON PAIRS from `t_(2g)` orbitals of the metal, they are called `pi`-acids or `pi`-acceptors.
