Answer» Correct Answer - B At constant temperature, the plot of `pV vs p` for real gases is not a straight line with zero slope. There is a singinificant deviation from ideal behavior. Two types of curves are seen. In the curves for `H_(2)` and `He` , as the pressure increases, the value of `pV` also increases. The second type of plot is seen in the case of other gases like `CO` and `CH_(4)`. In these plots, first there is a negative deviation from the ideal behaviour , the `pV` values decreases with increase in pressure and reaches a minimum value characteristic of a gas. After that, the `pV` value starts increasing. The curve then crosses the line for ideal gas and after that shows positive deviation continuously. |
