The ratio of age of A and B is 5 : 4 and the ratio of age of B and C is 4 : 3. If difference of age of A and C is 14 years, then what will be the ratio of age of C and B after 7 years?1. 14 : 152. 15 : 143. 4 : 54. 5 : 45. None of these

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 3 : 4 : 5

Given:

Ratio of age of A and B = 5 : 4

Ratio of age of B and C = 4 : 3

Difference of age of A and C = 14 years

Calculations:

Let the present age of A and B and C be 5x, 4x and 3x respectively.

5x – 3x = 14

⇒ 2x = 14

⇒ x = 7

Present age of B = 4x

⇒ 4 × 7

⇒ 28 years

Present age of C = 3x

⇒ 3 × 7

⇒ 21 years

After 7 years, age of B = 28 + 7

⇒ 35 years

After 7 years, age of C = 21 + 7

⇒ 28 years

Ratio of age of C and B after 7 years =  28 : 35

⇒ 4 : 5

The ratio of age of C and B after 7 years is 4 : 5
