The realtive stabilities of metal carbonyls and their ions can be explained on the basis of a rule which is known as 18e^(-) rule. If number of valence shell electrons of the metal + number of electrons donated by bonded CO groups comes to be 18 electrons, then carbonyl is said to be stable. Some heteroleptic/noncarbonyl complexes also follow 18 electron rule. Identify the number of complexes following the rule. [Mn(CO)_(5)], [Co(CO)_(4)] [(eta^(5)-C_(5)H_(5))_(2)Fe], [(CO)_(5)(PF_(3))]^(+), [(eta^(5)-C_(5)H_(5)) [Cr(NO)_(4)], Fe(CO)_(2)Cl], [Fe(CO)_(2)(NO)_(2)], [Fe(CO)_(5)], [Mn_(2)(CO)_(10)] |
