Sub : Project work during academic session

Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw your kind attention that almost all the teachers use projects as some points to reinforce a lesson to give students an opportunity to demostrate what they have learned. Projects can be valuable classroom tools as they inspire the students to research and use their innovative ideas through which they have been provided, they use their spare time and keep themselves fully occupied in their research work. The students make their projects interesting by using computers. Thus, they become computer savvy and develop and build their skills and faculties. Apart from it, project work also helps the students to enhance their knowledge in different walks of life.

But it is also true that during academic session, project works have some negative aspects too. No doubt, project works are time consuming. They take much more time which has an adverse effect on their study. Not only this, the students are habitual of coping the project works and thus, the objective, initially, becomes of no use. The teachers provide easymarks for the project work and use these marks to promote the students into next standard. Moreover there is no correct and justified way of evaluation of the project work. Thus, the need is that project work should be made more analytical and systematic so that it may achieve its objects.

Yours truly

Rama
