1.

The substrate which undergoes oxidation and phosphorylation in glycolysis is ______.

Answer»

Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate

Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G-3-P) is converted into 1, 3-bisphosphoglyceric acid by G-3-P dehydrogenase. In this reaction cofactor NAD+ is reduced to NADH and H+ and inorganic phosphate added on to the product is derived from H3PO4.
