Answer» Correct Answer - Option 2 : 35

Given:

The sum of the two digits of a two-digit number is 12.

The difference of the two digits of a two-digit number is 2.

Concept Used:

The two-digit  number = 10x + y

Calculation:

Let the unit place be y

Let the ten's place be x

Then, the sum of the two digits of a two-digit number = 12

⇒  x+ y = 12  ..... (I)

The difference of the two digits of a two-digit number = 2

⇒ x - y = 2     .....(II)

On adding equation (I) and (II)

⇒ 2x = 14

⇒ x = 7

Then, on putting value of x in equation (I)

⇒ x + y = 12

⇒ 7 + y = 12

⇒ y = 5

Then, the product of two digits = 7 × 5 = 35

∴ The product of the two digits of the two digit number is 35.
