The teeter toy consists of two identical weights hanging from a peg on dropping arms as shown. The arrangement is surprisingly stable. Let us consider only oscillatory motion in the vertical plane. Consider the peg and rods (connecting the weights to the peg) to be very light. The length of each rod is l and length of the peg is L. In the position shown the peg is vertical and the two weights are in a position lower than the support point of the peg.
