1.

The volume of a circular iron rod of length 1 m is 3850 cm3. Find its diameter.

Answer»

It is given in the question that,

Volume of cylindrical rod = 3850 cm3

Height of the rod = 1m = 100 cm

Now,

In order to find the diameter of the rod we need to find the radius of the rod

Hence,

Volume of cuboid = \(\pi r^2h\)

3850 = \(\pi (r^2)(100)\)

3850 = \(\frac{22}{7}\times r^2\times 100\)

r2\(\frac{3850\times7}{100\times22}\)

r = 1.75× 7

r = 3.5 cm

Hence,

Diameter = 2(radius)

= 2 × 3.5

= 7 cm
