खुशी, प्रेम, प्रसिद्धि तथा सम्पत्ति ये सभी अस्थाई हैं तथा हमारे जीवन में भेष बदल कर प्रवेश करती हैं। ये सभी दर्द, दुःख, शर्म तथा गरीबी के रूप में बदल जाते हैं और सारी खुशियों के ब्याज के रूप में हमें भुगतना पड़ता है। कहने का आशय यह है कि खुशहाली मानव जीवन में दु:ख व अस्थिरता लाती है। अतः हमें भौतिक वस्तुओं को अपने जीवन में नकारना चाहिए इस नश्वर संसार में पूर्ण जीवन जीने के लिए।
