1.

Two arcs of two different circle are of equal lengths. If these arcs subtends angles of 45^(@) and 60^(@) at the centre of the circles. Find the ratio of the radii of the two circles.

Answer»

SOLUTION :`45^@=pi/4` RAD and `60^@=pi/3` rad
LET `r_1` and `r_2` be the radii of the two circles and be the length of each arc.
`therefore s=r_1pi/4=r_2pi/3 (because s=r THETA)`
`rArr r_1/r_2=4/3`
Hence the required ratio of radii =4:3
