So, complement of x = 90°- x

According to question,

x – (90°- x) = 20°

⇒ x – 90° + x = 20°

⇒ 2x = 20° + 90° = 110°

⇒ x = 110°/2 = 55°

∴ Complement of x = 90°- x = 90°- 55° = 35°

Thus, 55° and 35° are required complementary angles.
