1.

Two concentric circles with radii p cm and (p+ 2) cm are drawn on a paper. The difference between their areas is 44 sq. cm What is the value of p?(Take π  = \(\frac{22}{7}\))1. 1.52. 53. 64. 2.5

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 4 : 2.5

Given:

difference between areas is 44 sq. cm

radii = p cm and (p+2) cm

Formula Used:

Area of Circle = π.r2

Calculation:

π.R2 - π.r2 = 44

⇒π(R2 - r2) = 44

⇒22/7{(R + r)(R - r)} = 44

⇒{(p+2+p)(p+2-p)} = 14

⇒(2p + 2)2 = 14

⇒2p+ 2 = 7

⇒2p = 5

∴ The value of p is 2.5
