1.

Using the equation of state pV=nRT, show that at a given temperature density of a gas is proportional to gas pressure p.

Answer»

Solution :According to EQ: 5.17, we have
`M= (dRT)/P`or `d = M/(RT)*P`
For a PARTICULAR gas, at CONSTANT TEMPERATURE, `M/(RT)` is
constant `d prop P`
i.e., at constant temperature, density of a gas is proportional to its pressure.
