Traditionally, in botany the term division has been used instead of phylum, although the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants accepts the terms as equivalent. Every single animal, from the smallest of insects to the blue whale (largest animal on earth) is classified into various phylum\xa0and classes. This classification is the basis of the Animal Kingdom or Kingdom Animalia. All the members of the animal kingdom are called Metazoa.\xa0 |
