Wave equation for one progressive harmonic wave isy = 10 ^(-4) sin (600 t - 2x + (pi)/(3))m and t is in s). Velocity of the wave would be ...... m/s

Answer»

300
600
1200
200

Solution :Comparing GIVEN equation,
`y = 10 ^(-4) SIN (600 t - 2x + (pi)/(t))`
with `y = a sin (omega t - kx +phi)` we get, `omega = 600 rad//s`
`K = 2 rad //m`
`therefore v = (omega )/(k) = (600)/(2) = 300 (m)/(s)`
