The very thought among the common man that they were living the lives of second-class citizens in their own country, brought out nationalism in them. Progressive leaders and thinkers helped to CHANNEL this collective fervour and bring it out as a nationalist movement. The WEST had outspoken thinkers and authors, whose works helped to a certain EXTENT, in shaping the ideals of thinkers and leaders of India. However, this WOULD have played only a minor role, in bringing out Indian nationalism.
