OSHA 1910.156 (f) requires the following:

  1. SCBA required for fire brigades working inside buildings or confined SPACES where TOXIC combustion products or O2 deficiency may be present.
  2. "Buddy-breathing" devices are acceptable.
  3. Switching SCBA CYLINDERS among MANUFACTURERS is acceptable.
  4. SCBA must be at least 30-minute duration.
  5. SCBA must have an audible low air warning.
  6. Only pressure demand SCBA for fire fighting.
