The aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbons containing two and three carbon-carbon triple bonds in their structure are called alkadiynes and alkatriynes, respectively.

e.g. CH ≡ C – CH2 – C ≡ CH 

Alkadiyne (Penta-1,4-diyne)

HC ≡ C- C ≡ C- C ≡ CH 

Alkatriyne (Hexa-1,3,5-triyne)
