What are derived units ?Give an example.

A unit obtained by multiplying or dividing one fundamental unit by another fundamental unit(S) is known as derived unit.

EXAMPLE : Density of a substance is defined by :

Density = mass of sample / volume of sample

= SI unit of mass / SI unit of volume

= kg/m³ = kg m^-3.
