Purines and pyrimidines are two of the basic units of the nucleic acids. They are found in a DNA and RNA in a cell Purines is a large sized double ring structure. It contains two bases, i.e., adenine and guanine, Pyrimidines are small sized, single ring structures. It contains three type of bases i.e., thymine, cytosine and uracil.
