The threads have mostly six separate strands which can be used together, or separated and used singly or in groups. These threads, often referred to as ‘stranded silk’ though they are actually mercerized cotton, are lustrous and suitable for most types of embroidery.

Types of threads:

  • Pearl cotton
  • Metallic threads
  • Satin and rayon threads
  • Overdyed threads
  • Wool threads
  • Novelty threads
