Answer» It is the protective tissue it is present on the aerial part of a cell The epidermis act as a protective tissue . It secretes waxy water resistant coating which prevent water loss in plant . It protect plant from invansion of fungi . In roots epidermis has long hair like structure which prevents water loss The epidermis aids in protection against loss of water, mechanical injury and invasion by parasitic fungi. Since it has a protective layer to play, cell of epidermis tissue form a continuous layer without intercellular spaces. It protects the cell and is present in outermost part of cell |
