Gate-pyramids, Gopuras, which are the PRINCIPAL features in the quadrangular enclosures that SURROUND the more notable temples. Gopuras are very common in Dravidian temples. Pillared HALLS (Chaultris or Chawadis) are used for many PURPOSES and are the invariable accompaniments of these temples.
