What are the uses of Baking soda? |

Answer» 1) Baking powder is a mixture of baking soda and a mild edible acid such as tartaric acid. When baking powder is heated or mixed in water, the following reaction takes place. 2) Carbon dioxide produced during the reaction causes bread or cake to rise making them soft and spongy. 3) Sodium hydrogen carbonate is also an ingredient in antacids. Being alkaline, it neutralizes excess acid in the stomach and provides relief. 4) It is also used in soda-acid, fire extinguishers. 5) It acts as mild antiseptic. |
