Undoubtedly this story has a lot to say. The importance of choice and the consequences that result from this choice depends on the fate of the accused. The king has created the public arena with a purpose. He never interferes into the choice of the accused. Actually the accused’s choice is the one which decides his destiny. The king’s choice does not matter in this scheme of dealing with justice. Whether the accused is killed by a hungry tiger or get married with a beautiful maiden is a subject of fate for the accused. So fate plays a major role in one life.

निस्संदेह इस कहानी में हमें बहुत कुछ कहा गया है। चुनाव करने का महत्त्व और उस चुनाव का जो परिणाम सामने आता है वह निश्चय ही अभियुक्त के भाग्य पर निर्भर करता है। राजा ने एक निश्चित उद्देश्य के साथ लोक दीर्घा का निर्माण किया था। वह कभी भी अभियुक्त के पसंद में हस्तक्षेप नहीं करता था। वास्तव में अभियुक्त द्वारा किया गया चनाव उसका अपना एक भाग्य निश्चित करता था। राजा की इच्छा इस तरह से न्याय करने के क्रम में कोई महत्त्व नहीं रखता था। चाहे दोषी एक भूखे दुर्दात बाघ के द्वारा मार कर खा लिया जाय या कर एक सुन्दर महिला के साथ उसका विवाह हो जाय। यह उसके अपने भाग्य पर निर्भर करता था। इस तरह से भाग्य व्यक्ति के अपने-अपने जीवन में एक महत्त्वपूर्ण किरदार निभाता है।
