Places which were covered through the Northern route included Tamralipty (western region of Bengal), Patliputra, Vaishali, Kushinagar, Shravasti, Hastinapur, Punjab, Delhi, Himalayan foothills, Kashmir Valley, Taxila, Pushkalawati (present Peshawar in Pakistan), Afghanistan, Kabul and Bulkh, etc. respectively |
