The federal government and the state government may not obey a law in word and sprier or infringe upon the fundamental rights, then the Supreme Court can declare any such in-constitutional law to be null and void. Such power of the supreme Court is called judicial review, and during the modern times,the first use of Judicia review was exercised in U.S.A. In the USA, the judicial review is a part of regular legal process, while in India, it is of reactionary nature.
