The end of A room 10′ x 8′ suggests that the way we behave with our parents or grandparents, the same way our children will behave with us during our old age. For example, in the story, Mrs Malik’s attitude towards her mother-in-law was very indifferent. She repeatedly proposed the size of the store-room 10′ x 8′ so that it could be used as her mother-in-law’s room. And after her death, it would again be converted as store-room. This approach reflects that she didn’t have any respect for her. But her mother-in-law died before shifting in the new house. When Malik family after Mr Malik’s death shifted into the new house, Mrs Malik’s daughter-in-law provided the same room (store) to Mrs Malik. Mrs Malik reaps only what she had sown. 

10' फीट x 8' फीट का कमरा’ (कहानी) का समापन हमें सुझाव देता है कि जैसा व्यवहार हम अपने माता-पिता या दादा-दादी के साथ करते हैं वैसा ही व्यवहार हमारी वृद्धावस्था के दौरान हमारे बच्चे हमारे साथ करते हैं । उदाहरण के लिए, इस कहानी में श्रीमती मलिक का अपनी सास के प्रति व्यवहार बेहद उपेक्षापूर्ण था। वह भण्डारघर के 10′ x 8′ आकार का बार-बार प्रस्ताव रख रहीं थीं जिससे कि इसे उनकी सास का कमरा बनाया जा सके और उनकी मृत्यु के बाद इसे पुनः भण्डारगृह बना दिया जायेगा। 

श्रीमती मलिक का यह व्यवहार प्रदर्शित करता है कि उनके दिल में उनकी सास के प्रति सम्मान भाव नहीं था। लेकिन उनकी सास की उस नये मकान में शिफ्ट होने से पूर्व ही मृत्यु हो गई। जब मलिक परिवार श्रीमान मलिक की मृत्यु के बाद उस नये मकान में शिफ्ट हुआ तो श्रीमती मलिक की पुत्रवधू ने उन्हें वही 10' फीट x 8' फीट वाला कमरा रहने को दिया । श्रीमती मलिक को अपने किए का फल मिल गया।
