What happen when we apply pressure on co² and then lowering the temperature?write some uses |

Answer» Answer: Carbon dioxide, for example, is a gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, but becomes a liquid under SUFFICIENTLY HIGH pressure. If the pressure is reduced, the temperature drops and the liquid carbon dioxide solidifies into a snow-like substance at the temperature –78ºC. Carbon dioxide is used as a refrigerant, in fire extinguishers, for INFLATING life rafts and life JACKETS, blasting coal, foaming rubber and plastics, promoting the growth of plants in greenhouses, immobilizing animals before slaughter, and in carbonated beverages. |
