1.

What happens to the period of a simple pendulum, if its length is doubled? What happens if the mass that is suspended is doubled?

Answer»

Time period of a simple pendulum is,

T = 2π√{l/g}

When length is doubled, the time period

T' = √2 T

Since, time period is independent of the suspended mass, hence with the increase in mass, the time period of the pendulum will remain the same.
