Answer» When Datta loses the pencil stub, he sweeps his hand all round him impatiently, scattering fragments of glass and wood. False shapes that he mistakes for the pencil harasses him to no end and stokes his anger. Frustrated in all his attempts to find it, he finally stands up to shake the folds of his dhoti. Then he upsets a tin containing white enamel paint and it falls right on the sacred photograph of the old man. जब दत्ता पेंसिल के टुकड़े को खो देता है, वह बेचैनी से अपने हाथ को फैले हुए काँच तथा लकड़ी के टुकड़ों के चारों ओर घुमाता है। गलत आकृतियाँ जिनको वह पेन्सिल समझ लेता है, उसको इतनी परेशान करती हैं जिसका कोई अन्त नहीं है और उसका क्रोध भड़काती है। इसको ढूंढने के लिए अपने सभी प्रयासों से हताश होकर, अन्त में वह अपनी धोती की तह को हिलाने के लिए खड़ा होता है। तब वह सफेद एनामेल पेंट के डिब्बे को वृद्ध आदमी की पवित्र फोटो के ठीक ऊपर गिरा देता है। |
