What is a sedimentary rock? Why it is called aqueous rocks? |
|
Answer» The rocks which are formed due to aggregation and compactness of sediments are known as “Sedimentary rocks.” These are formed by the deposition of sediments derived form older rocks, plants and animal remains by rivers, winds, glaciers etc. These sediments are hardened into rocks by pressure. Most often, they are formed on the bed of shallow seas or lakes and so they are called aqueous rocks. |
