What is adenohypophysis ? Name the hormones secreted by it. |

Answer» 1. Adenohypophysis is the large anterior lobe of pituitary gland. 2. It is derived from embryonic ectoderm in the form of Rathke’s pouch which is a small outgrowth from the roof of embryonic stomodaeum. 3. It is made up of epitheloid secretory cells. It secretes following hormones: 1. GH : [Growth Hormone/STH : Somatotropic Hormone] 2. TSH/TTH – [Thyroid Stimulating Hormone/ Thyrotropic Hormone] 3. ACTH – [adrenocorticotropic hormone] 4.
