Solution :An oxide that combines with water to give an acid is called acidic oxide :
`SO_(2)+H_(2)Orarr UNDERSET("Acid")(H_(2)SO_(3))`
Examples : `SO_(2), Cl_(2)O_(7), CO_(2), N_(2),O_(5)`
Note : Generally non metals oxides and oxides of same metals in high oxidation state have acidic character.
Examples of acidic metal oxides `-Mn_(2)O_(7), Cr_(2)O_(3), V_(2)O_(5)`.
