Answer» At a very abstract level, CAMEL can be introduced as a routing engine. Camel allows us to define our routing rules to route messages from specified source to destination. Camel provides inbuilt support for many protocols which makes it EASY for us to integrate different systems. For ex: Camel can EASILY integrate two different applications WORKING in ftp and jms respectively. Internally Camel PERFORMS all the required protocol and datatype conversions for us.
